WORD ON THAI ECONOMY: Thai stocks are expected to do well on the first trading day of the new year, following an overnight climb on Wall Street of US manufacturing data, which is expected to bolster appetite for energy shares with high oil prices, Reuters reported.
The Thai market was the second-best performer in Asia last year, rising 40.6 percent in 2010, following a 63.3 percent rise in 2009.
Foreign inflows of $1.92 billion were recorded in 2010, Thomson Reuters data showed.
