Thai TV cooking show celebrity Chef Faifoo
WORD ON PHUKET YACHTING / COOKING SCENE: Phuket-based yacht chefs are invited to prove their nautical culinary skills for the chance to win cash prizes and professional cooking gear in the first Phuket ‘Franke Yacht Chefs’ Cooking Challenge as party of the Phuket Six Senses Raceweek in July.
Supported by leading kitchen appliance supplier Franke Kitchen Systems, seven chefs will be selected to compete in the cooking challenge at Evason Phuket & Bon Island (See the Google map below) in Rawai, Phuket on Saturday, 23rd July from 2pm to 4pm.
Thai celebrity chefs from Channel 5′s “Krua INDY” TV show, Chef Fang and Chef Faifooon, will be judging the cooking contest and awarding prizes totaling more than 100,000 baht.
The top three placed chefs will walk away with a coveted Franke Yacht Chefs’ Cooking Challenge trophy.
In addition, the winner will receive 20,000 baht and a Franke induction hob PIN 320 worth 26,900 baht. Second place will receive 15,000 baht and a Franke oven FS 52 MXS worth 14,990 baht, and third place will receive 10,000 baht and a Franke gas hob FCH 80 3G Glass worth 8,990 baht. Fourth to seventh placed finishers will receive Franke kitchen products.
The chefs will have to cook specific dishes in an allotted time limit using 100 ingredients divided among the competitors and will be judged on the taste and presentation of their galley creations.
The Cooking Challenge will be broadcast live on Phuket FM Radio (91.5FM).
Only Phuket-based chefs can apply to take part in the challenge, which is free to enter, by sending an email to FTH-Info@franke.com, including short description of your job, age and experience.
The deadline for applications is 1st July, 2011.
