WORD ON JAPAN TSUNAMI: Disaster prevention officials in the Philippines are on high alert and advising people to move to high ground as they wait for tsunami waves to hit the coastline in the next hour or so.
Speaking live on BBC News, Richard Gordon of the Philippine Red Cross, said they were keeping a close eye on developments but could not yet predict the height of any waves, but that the coastline’s geography could in fact make the waves larger than the tsunami which hit Japan earlier today.
