WORD ON PHUKET SPORT: Masters Football Asia Announce The Emerald EPL Masters Tour Phuket Featuring Thailand Legends Vs EPL All Stars.

Masters Football Asia in partnership with Emerald Phuket Development is delighted to announce the staging of an exhibition football match which will excite the football lovers and sports enthusiasts of Phuket only a week before the start of the new EPL season. The match will feature two star studded teams of legends football players (over the age of 35) in the Emerald EPL Masters Tour Phuket 2014 and will see Thailand Legends versus EPL All Stars Masters play on Sunday 10th August.

The team of local heroes will have a lot to live up to as a Thailand Legends team won the indoor 6 a side “Thailand Masters Trophy” in Bangkok in 2012 in a 4 way contest (which also included Liverpool and Manchester United Masters) and defeated an EPL All Star side in the final. The team that were victorious included home grown players such as Piyapong Piew On, Wangchan, Chaikaew, Chan-im and Puangchan; most are expected to be part of this year’s Thai team and captain of the team Zico will once more be expected to lead the side.

The 2012 event was organised by Venture Sports Group of Bangkok who will once more be working tirelessly behind the scenes to help Masters Football make the event a success and bringing much loved British football to the Thai public.

The EPL All Stars Masters team will feature many famous faces that will be playing in Thailand for the very first time. The team are expected to include such legends as David James, Lee Sharpe, Robbie Fowler and Pierre Van Hooijdonk. Teddy Sheringham and Louis Saha, both Champions League winners with Manchester United have been added to the EPL All Stars team to complete a strong line up.

The EPL All Star team will be visiting the beautiful resort of Phuket for a few days prior to the match and the players will be involved in a number of community projects which include coaching for kids, meet and greet the fans and touring the island. Such a fantastic experience has been made possible by the main sponsor Emerald Phuket Development who will further enhance their standing in the community with a generous donation of gate receipts to local charities.

It is hoped that the match will be an annual event, a curtain raiser to the EPL season. We welcome Khun Mai from Emerald Phuket Development and look forward to working with him and his team .

The game is supported by the Football Association of Thailand and is additionally endorsed by the Phuket Provincial Sports & Tourism Authority who will be hoping to fill the stadium for what is expected to be a carnival atmosphere and an exciting match. )

Tickets for the Emerald EPL Masters Tour Phuket go on sale on Friday 13th June.

There is a limited number of VIP seats priced at 2,000 and 1,000 baht. Grandstand seats are 300 baht and regular tickets are priced at 200 baht each. Tickets can be bought at Phuket’s Tiny Coffee outlets & Tiny Mart at Shell petrol stations and available online at www.phuketticketmaster.com (link will be updated).

Any remaining tickets will be available at the ticket booth in front of stadium only on match day.

The public are urged to buy their tickets early as the organisers are expecting a capacity crowd of 15,000 at the Surakul Stadium, home to Phuket FC.
